Pride is Good, Just Not White

In America pride is a funny thing but apparently it is only open to certain groups of people. If you want to be loud and proud you can be as long as your not loud, proud, and white. There are many groups focused around pride whether its for their sexuality or their skin color. A perfect place to find these pride groups are on many of the popular social networking websites. The one I have in mind currently is the ever so popular Facebook. While I am a member of this social network and many of my readers are as well, I do enjoy the site. However after a recent incident I am enjoying it a little less. Up until recently I have had little issue with Facebook and I currently am not having any problems with them unlike a friend of mine that is. He is a proud white man and at times he is overly proud. If you ask him if he is racist 9 times out of 10 he will answer no then follow it up with he hates everyone. While I don’t know if he hates everyone I know that he can find complaints about people of any color. So maybe in your mind he is racist but that is for you to decide. I can say he is a proud white man and there is nothing wrong with being a proud white man, is there? Apparently in some peoples eyes being a proud white automatically makes you a racist.

Here is what went down involving my friend. While he was bored one evening he started looking for pride groups on Facebook.com. He quickly noticed there were no groups for white pride, so he decided to start one. He named the group, “White Pride World Wide” and the first picture for the group he used had the same words. As he wrote the description of the group he made it very clear in the beginning that the group was not about racism but instead a place for proud whites to go. Within a few hours he changed to a new group picture to one that read, “Pride Not Hate.” Seems to me that he was attempting to make it known to everyone the group page was not a racist page. He talked on there about putting together a White Pride Day and even told a few people that if the event would happen he would ask everyone to wear white shirts. My friend formed the group on a Sunday night and on Tuesday morning is when the drama began. My friend attempted to log on to his Facebook account and he received a message saying his account had been disabled. Right away he knew why, all because he was proud. He set to work writing a nice and polite email to Facebook that explained his reasoning behind starting the page and also pointing out that there are many other pride groups on Facebook. In the meantime he had talked to a few friends including myself and explained what had happen and what steps he had taken so far. Then the slap to the face came, about 45 minutes after sending the email to Facebook, my friend received a text message from another friend telling him that his account on Facebook had been completely deleted. My friends existence came to a complete end in a blink of an eye, he no longer existed in the Facebook world. He received no warning, POOF! He was gone. My friend was mad of course over the whole issue but he had his laughs about it too. Some of his other friends later that day formed a bring George back to Facebook page. Well, no thanks to Facebook but George is back and he is trying to be good, for how long nobody knows.

This whole incident of course interested me. In the past I have written on the whole racism against white people. Depending who you ask you will get different answers as to does racism against white exist or is their discrimination against white people. While I for one believe there is discrimination and racism towards white people and this event involving my friend is just more proof. Like me, he too is a white male, he loves his country but doesn’t trust his government, he believes there are useless waste of life in every group of people no matter what their color is, he is proud of his German and Irish ancestry, and he is proud of being white. We always hear of famous Black Americans but when was the last time someone referred to George Washington, Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, as famous White Americans? That’s right, you can’t. What did you learn in the public schools during white history month? Nothing, it does not exist, but every February we have black history month. So, with my friends issue still fresh in my mind I set out to do some research. I went onto our favorite social networking site, www.facebook.com and I began searching. My first search was for white pride, my search results 0. My next search was for black pride and the results returned over 50 groups. Search number 3 was for Latino Pride and no surprise it returned over 30 groups. Search number 4 yielded the largest number of returns over 100 and that was gay pride. Additional searches also showed smaller numbers of groups for Chinese, Japanese, and Korean Pride. So Facebook is telling everyone that’s it is okay to have pride if you are anything but white. But wait wasn’t Facebook founded by a bunch of white guys? Well, thank you for asking that question. The answer is yes, it was founded by white guys. Today, Facebook stock is broken up to many different collectors. The largest stakeholder for Facebook is it employees, collecting 30%. I can’t tell you who makes up the employees of Facebook but I sure its safe to say a large mix of people from all backgrounds. Then comes Co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg who alone collects 24% of Facebook’s income. Co-founder Dustin Moskovitz collects 6%, Co-founder Eduardo Saverin collects 5%, Napster’s Sean Parker, Founding President of Facebook: collects 4%, Digital Sky Technologies, a Russian investment firm collects 10%, Goldman Sachs collects 0.8%, Goldman Sachs’ clients collects 3%, Greylock Partners, a venture capital firm collects 1.5%, Meritech Capital Partners collects 1.5%, Peter Thiel, PayPal co-founder and Clarium Capital president collects 3%, Elevation Partners (that’s U2′s Bono among others) collects1.5%, and a few other investors collect a combined 9.7%. Since Mark Zuckerberg is the top man for Facebook and the top money maker, lets pick on him.

It is not know for sure whether Mark is Liberal or Conservative but we can look at some facts and you the reader can decide. I asked the question, is Mark Zuckerberg a Democrat or a Republican to the website www.answers.com and this is the answer I received. “The answer previous to mine that stated that Mark Zuckerberg is a republican is factually inaccurate, Mark Zuckerberg has stated himself that he is neither a Republican or Democrat, however he is from a Jewish family and is an atheist, both tend to lean to the left. He also graduated from Phillips-Exeter Academy, the finest high school in the country, and the same as two of Americans greatest Authors John Irving and Gore Vidal (both very liberal). He in addition attended Harvard (extremely liberal) and is seemingly anti-censorship, and very charitable. Through reasonable assumption I would guess he would be very liberal and unfaithful to either political party.” Well, that spells it out pretty good, I would have to agree, with that background I would say he leans to the left side of the fence. If it is true that he leans to the left side I think it would be safe to say this is the reasoning my friend got the boot from Facebook. My friend like me tends to lean more to the right. He calls a spade a spade and like me if he hurts someones feelings well it has been said that the truth hurts.

I want to make it clear, I am not supporting any type of racism. I too am a proud white male and I voice my opinion on any subject brought to my attention. Like many Americans we are proud of where we came from. I am proud that members of my family have served in every war since and including the Revolutionary War. When the southern states decided they no longer wanted to be controlled by a government of the North because they believed in states rights, my family proudly fought for the South. My family didn’t own slaves, they were farmers that worked their own land. They fought for the South not to preserve slavery but to preserve their own rights and their own property. One of the core Freedoms of being an American is our Freedom of Speech. However, this freedom has been limited and at times silenced by many politicians. Freedom of Speech only exist if you are in favor of liberal beliefs, when you speak against them they try to silence you. By making a White Pride group he was not being disrespectful to any other people, he was not threatening or bullying other people. He was simply showing his pride. Meanwhile, there are black pride groups on Facebook that use the clenched black fist that is recognized as black power symbol and is also associated with the Black Panthers. How can these groups exist? Facebook claims it does not take political sides. I disagree, how can you say you don’t take political sides when you allow symbols of black power and the racist corrupt organization symbol of the Black Panthers to continuously be used? If you are going to claim to be equal then be equal to everyone. If one single group can not have a pride group then nobody should be allowed to have a pride group. Pride and prejudice are two different things. Unless you are a white person then there is no difference. Whites face racism just as much as any other group in America today. Who is to blame for this? White people are passed over for jobs because of the governments Affirmative Action that promotes quotes or percentages of minorities in areas. I don’t care the skin color of the person doing should matter to the job as long as that person is the highest qualified and hardest working person for that position. Thanks to Affirmative Action your qualifications for a job take a backseat to your skin color. While in other writings I have stated how I feel the Church is the most corrupt organized crime family in the world, the United States Government is one of the largest and most racist groups in the world. It is the government that continues to force the race card on people. It is because of laws such as Affirmative Action that cause racism. When others stand up and speak of pride it is allowed and good but when a white person speaks up he is called a racist. The only white people that can publicly have open pride are those that are gay. Gay pride is okay because you are now considered a minority group. I have no problems with the gays either, what you do in your bedroom is none of my business. It all comes back to pride. Maybe we as white people are not suppose to be proud. We are not suppose to be proud that our country’s founding fathers were white men, that a white man was the first to walk on the moon, and that white men created the first airplane? Are we not suppose to be proud of Elizabeth Blackwell, the first white female doctor in the United States, Sally Ride the first female in space, should we not be proud of Betsy Ross the woman that created the first American Flag? Of course not, none of these people are important to American History why should we as white Americans be proud of what these great white people did to help form this country.

As long as there are groups out there to help protect the none white Americans, as long as the government continues to force white discrimination laws such as Affirmative Action, as long as the media and social networking sites continue to allow others to show their pride and call whites racist by trying to show their pride then racism will never end. So many people preach that we must end racism in America, well you can’t end something that the media and the government are forcing on to its viewers and citizens. Racism doesn’t end with me or you, it doesn’t end with laws such as Affirmative Action. Racism will end when the media and the government stop promoting it. Until then, we as white American must continue to hold our heads high and not let anyone put us down for being who we are, proud white Americans. We must support one another in our pride because we are all that we have. Support my friend as he makes his return to Facebook. By supporting my friend George you are telling him we as white Americans support him and we will send a message to Facebook letting them know that their liberal beliefs and actions will not hold us down. Pride is not racism, pride is being happy with who you are and where you came from.

For all American’s our world came to a sudden and terrifying stop at 8:46AM on Tuesday September 11, 2001. For on this date at this time America was attacked, this was the fifth time since 1776 that American blood stain her ground by forces of foreign countries. This attack was different then any attack America had ever seen. The attackers were not of a single country, they didn’t focus on military establishments, they did not care about their lives. Their only care was to shed as much innocent American blood as possible. The 19 terrorist used box cutters and airplanes to commit the deadly attack on American soil. When you add up the cost of what the 9/11 attacks cost both in human life and financially they say that number comes out to approximately $2 trillion, I believe that you can not place a dollar amount on a human life. The cowards blindsided America and her people but was one thing the terrorist did not count on, America pride and our resolve. When the American dream and spirit took multiple punches to the face and groin area and America was forced down to one knee, America did not fall. As we have in the past, America reached down deep and found the power of freedom to puts us back on two feet. While all the eyes of the world witnessed the brutal attack America faced the world also witnessed the American pride. Within minutes of the attacks firefighters, police, and paramedics ran into the doomed buildings of the World Trade Center, emergency service workers worked quickly to save the Pentagon, and the passengers of Flight 93 fought back forcing the plane to crash in an open field in rural southwestern Pennsylvania, sacrificing their lives so that others may live. Volunteers rushed to all three location to help however they can. When the sun rose on September 12, 2001 America stood proud and loud. When the world wiped the sleep from their eyes the day after the attacks and turned the attention back to the United States they found a country standing strong, they found the United States of America united! American’s were flying flags and standing proud. For the first time in many years Americans seen themselves as one. It didn’t matter what state or neighborhood you lived in, it didn’t matter if you was white or black, it didn’t matter if you believed in God or if you was an Atheist, we were Americans and in the words of President George W. Bush, “We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail.”

With the 10 year anniversary of that dark day in American history less then two months much media attention is turning towards current events involving 9/11. The media is talking about how some citizens have filed a lawsuit over the 9/11 WTC Memorial. Members of American Atheist have filed suit against the states of New Jersey and New York as well as New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Governor Chris Christie. The lawsuit is over an I-beam cross that was once a part of the World Trade Center. The cross was discovered on September 13, 2001 as crews and first responders worked to locate survivors, recover bodies of those lost, and the clean up of Ground Zero. The cross quickly became a symbol of hope and comfort for Ground Zero, the workers, and many American people. The cross remained at Ground Zero until October 5, 2006. It was then removed from the World Trade Center site so that construction of the WTC Memorial and the new Freedom Tower could be built. It was said that the cross will be returned to its home at Ground Zero upon the completion of the Memorial Site. Now while I do believe in America’s religious freedom once again the Christians who are the majority are under attack. While many look at the steel beam cross as a glimmer of hope and a sign of comfort that was found jutting out of the rubble and dust of where the twin towers once stood. The cross was a part of those towers, while yes the buildings themselves were made of many crossed steel beams this one stood proud in the the middle of all the destruction. In that pile of twisted metal, rubble, and dust crews discovered this almost perfect cross standing tall. American’s looked at this part of the building, this piece of metal as a sign of hope and comfort. The cross was not placed the by humans, it was a part of what happen there days before it was found. Yes more than just Christians died at the World Trade Center and yes not all religions are being represented at the National 9/11 Memorial Museum but this cross represented more than Christianity. Michael Burke lost his brother that day, F.D.N.Y. Captain William F. Burke. Micheal’s words explain the cross perfect, “It’s a historic icon of the great American response of hope and cooperation. A true brotherhood. It belongs in the museum.” Michael is right, not once did he mention God, church, or anything about religion. He only mentioned America’s response of hope and cooperation. President of the National 9/11 Memorial Joe Daniels said, “The mission of the National September 11 Memorial Museum is to tell the history of 9/11 through historic artifacts like the World Trade Center Cross.” Mr. Daniels went on to say, “In the historical exhibition, the Cross is part of our commitment to bring back the authentic physical reminders that tell the story of 9/11 in a way nothing else can.” Once again no mention of the words God or church. There is no denying the cross came from the World Trade Center, there is no denying that the cross is one of the most recognized pieces from Ground Zero, there is no denying that the cross represented hope and comfort for those working at Ground Zero. The cross is exactly what it has become, a historical artifact that everyone can recognize as a piece of the twin towers. I know some people may argue the point of how can we allow a cross, a symbol of Christianity to be in the museum but yet not allow a mosque to be placed at or near ground zero. It’s simple, the cross was originally at ground zero, it was a part of the towers that once stood there, the cross will be returning to its home.

While the Atheist are causing a stir they are not the only ones. The United States Government has turned its backs on the first responders, the survivors, and the families of these people from the 9/11 attacks. When H.R. 847 went in front of Congress for a vote, many Republicans were reluctant to vote for the bill due to financial reasons. This was when cancer was dropped from the list of recognized health conditions for first responders that worked Ground Zero. They claim there is “insufficient evidence” linking cancer to ground zero workers. Insufficient evidence, like many others I find this intriguing. Around 100 ground zero recovery workers have died of cancer and another 600 have been diagnosed with the disease. However, there isn’t enough evidence. I don’t understand how nearly 700 cases of cancer and the common link between all 700 cases is Ground Zero isn’t enough evidence. The Zadroga 9/11 Health Law covers many illness developed by workers at the World Trade Center site, the illnesses range from many respiratory disorders, to mental health diagnoses, to back pain and carpal tunnel syndrome. That’s right, carpal tunnel is covered but cancer isn’t! Why, well the politicians themselves said it, Republicans were reluctant to vote for the bill due to financial reasons. That is because cancer is an expensive disease to treat. At the end of the day the facts are that those that survived the 9/11 attacks, especially those that worked 100′s of hours at the WTC site looking for survivors, looking for bodies to provide closure for family’s, and those that worked to clean the area where the twin towers once stood have become pawns in the dirty game of politics. I searched for the average cost of cancer treatment and in that search I only found cost for certain types of cancer, not cancer as a whole. The numbers I found would all estimate the average cost to treat cancer ranges between $20,000 – $40,000. Granted that is a lot of money especially if you multiple it by the almost 700 people diagnosed with cancer as a result of the 9/11 attacks. If you take the number in the middle,$30,000 and multiple it by 700 your answer is $21 million. Yes I know that is a lot of money and I know that America is in a financial crisis, but those people that sacrificed their lives and their health to do their job, to help their fellow American in a time of need deserve to be respected and treated for the medical problems they developed as the result of their patriotism. They don’t deserve to be sweep under a rug like the dust of Ground Zero. Maybe some of the politicians that refuse to give the workers of 9/11 the benefits they need should give up driving their luxury vehicles and pet projects to see that those that sacrificed themselves are taken care of. You know as well as I do that this won’t happen, the politicians care for themselves not the American public they were elected to serve.

The fact is that 9/11/01 was one of the darkest days in American history. While it was dark the light of freedom and hope from the American people quickly shined through. For the weeks and months following the September 11, 2001 attacks we Americans we untied as one. We didn’t care about each others religion. Many people that never met before and may not have ever met stood side by side with signs supporting the FDNY as they traveled to Ground Zero to continue their work long after the buildings fell. These are the same strangers that handed bottles of water to the fireman and thanked them for what they are doing. These are the same people that many maybe for the first time in their lives hung American flags from their homes. The firefighters and police officers that worked hundreds of hours at ground zero after the building came down didn’t do it because it was their job. They did it because their brothers were there. The brotherhood of firefighters and police officers is much like the brotherhood of the U.S. Military. You are your brothers keeper and no man is left behind. While many people enjoyed the movie Backdraft there are many lines from the movie that describe the feeling firefighters have and the line I am thinking of now is, “You go, we go.” In other words, no man is left behind and we go together. Whether they are going to safety or going to the after life, they will do it together, as brothers. The 9/11 memorials that are being built don’t represent religion, they are to remind us of the events of that terrible day, they are to remind us of those lost in the attacks and the bravery that was shown. The memorials are to remind us of how we as a nation stood united as one, how the light of freedom shined bright through the clouds of dust for all the world to see. The cross made of metal that gave many Americans a sign of hope and provided comfort was a part of those buildings, that cross became a part of history that comforted many Americans. I understand the Atheist just see it as a piece of metal and it is just a piece of metal but that piece of metal provided hope and comfort to the families of 9/11 as well as the workers. That piece of metal was a piece of the twin towers and deserves to be in the National 9/11 Memorial. Whether you look at it as a piece of metal or a cross there are a few common things we are all reminded of when we look at it. It reminds us that it was once part of two beautiful buildings that were once apart of the New York City skyline, it reminds us that there are people in this world that want to harm America, and we see a piece of metal that represents the final resting place for those that lost their lives at the World Trade Center that day. Let the piece of metal in the shape of a cross be placed in the memorial for everyone to see and let each person recognize it for what they want to recognize it as. The politicians are doing fine on their own ruining what September 11, 2001 stands for by turning their backs on those that were there and those that are in need of help from being there. Don’t lower yourselves to their level over a piece of metal that can be looked at in different ways. Don’t disgrace those that lost their lives that day, those that lost their lives as a result of working Ground Zero, don’t disrespect those that are suffering both physically and mentally over the events of 9/11. Let us be united in remembering that day and those people.

The United States vs The States

There is more to the illegal immigration problem then just illegal Mexicans sneaking across the border. Yes, the increasing number of illegals does add more stress to an already stressed country. While most of the illegal immigrants are Mexican there are illegals here from Latin America, Asia, Europe, and Canada, and a small number from Africa and the rest of the world. So when we talk about the illegal immigration problem let us not just focus on the Mexican people. While it is a fact that most of the illegals in America are from Mexico and they are the ones putting the largest strain on the American system, its the Mexican border that we need to focus on. If you compare the two borders of the United States the Canadian border is approximately 1, 538 miles while the Mexican border is approximately 1,969 miles. That’s a difference of approximately 431 miles. The U.S./Mexico border is the most frequently crossed border in the world. The United States border with Canada has approximately 120 staffed crossings while the United States border with Mexico on has about 40. In other words on the U.S./Canadian border there is a staffed crossing approximately every 13 miles. How does this compare to the U.S./Mexico border? With about 40 staffed crossings along 1,969 miles of border that means there is a crossing about every 50 miles. Where does this make any sense? The most frequently crossed border in the world, the border that also serves as the gateway for most of the illegal entry into the United States has a staffed crossing every 50 miles! No wonder we have so many issues with this border. Now of the 1,969 miles of Mexican border there is only 700 miles of fence along the border to deter illegal immigrants. However, this fence does not stop them. The illegals looking to enter America via Mexico find ways around, over, and under the fence. The Mexican border is not only the gateway for illegal immigrants but it also serves as a gateway for the Mexican drug cartels to get their product into the drug infested United States. To make matters even worse, the Mexican border is also an entrance with open arms inviting terrorist into America to do as they wish.

Now the question is, what is America doing to secure its border with Mexico? Nothing! The United States government has not done a single thing except fight the states that are trying to protect their citizens from the illegals entering America. When Arizona took a major step in the right direction by passing Arizona SB 1070 it received high marks from those concerned about the border however, the bill also created a lot of screaming from the liberal groups in America calling it racist and unconstitutional. Well, I am sorry to inform you that it is not racist and if you are not an American citizen, a legal immigrant, or here with the proper paperwork then you should not by protected by the Constitution. The State of Arizona is ranked sixth nationwide for the number of illegal immigrants. The State of Arizona sees the problems caused by illegal immigration and are trying to take measures to correct the problem and make the residents of Arizona and our nation safe from drug cartels, terrorist, and help relieve a stressed system. These liberal groups don’t care about your safety (unless your one of them), they don’t care about the strain on the economy, the education system, the welfare system or the dangers that may enter our country through unsecured borders. Instead of our government leaders congratulating Arizona on enacting tougher immigration laws and taking lessons from them, our liberal leaders are suing them. That’s right America, our government is siding with the drug cartels and terrorist in fighting Arizona’s immigration law. Is it not the job of the United States Government to protect its citizens and the land that makes up America? If the government sides with the drug cartels and terrorist is the government then going against its duty to protect America and her people? Is this not a reason to impeach our leader? I fully support the idea of each individual state creating and enforcing their own strict illegal immigrant laws. Even the great State of Alabama has passed its own illegal immigrant laws recently. When the Alabama Congress and Governor signed off on House Bill 56 making it the law of the land, many were quick to call it the toughest law in the nation against illegal immigrants. Of course, mush of it was modeled from Arizona’s law that caused many liberals to scream foul. So, how long before the government officials in our nation’s capitol that are sworn to protect and defend the United States file a lawsuit against Alabama?

In order to protect America and her people the federal government has to open their eyes and see that as long as our border is not secure America is not safe. It wasn’t until September 11, 2001 that the United States and many of her citizens even thought of a terrorist attack where the hijacked planes would be used as the weapons themselves. Since that sad day, we must think outside the box much like the terrorist that want to cause harm to America’s people. When the federal government fails to do its job then it is left to the citizens and the state governments to fill the gap left by the federal government. Its sad to say that now a days the federal government is leaving many gaps, much like those along the Mexican border. Even though the federal government is trying to put a stop to Arizona defending herself, Arizona is not giving up the fight. In fact, they are taking the fight to the United States. What do you do when you have a federal government that won’t protect the citizens of Arizona and due to a poor economy the state can’t free up funding to build a defense against illegal immigration? You go to the people. You don’t tax them but you ask them for donations. Even better, you ask for donations from anyone willing to donate to protect America’s border. The State of Arizona has set up a website that allows those of us that want to secure our borders to make America a safer place can help. Arizona recently started the website Buildtheborderfence.com. Its the official border fence donation service for the State of Arizona. Now that is thinking outside the box, I’m curious to see if Uncle Sam tries to interfere or stop Arizona from collecting private donations. The website has been online for approximately 1 week know and has already collected over $104,000 from 2,356 donors.

Here is a thought, The President of the United States when sworn into office states that he will to the best of his ability to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States. Is it not the job of the President of the United States to see that America is defended and protected from outside threats? Is it not the Presidents job to act on threats to our great nation? Yes it is. The threats are known to our country due to the open border with Mexico these threats are well known. As I stated above, the Mexican drug cartels take advantage of the unsecured border to do business of smuggling drugs, these drugs are harming America’s people. The number of illegals in America are harming America’s economy and straining many of the systems within our country. By allowing an open and unsecured border also allows foreign terrorist a simple way to slip into the United States without being noticed. We seen the end result of what the 19 hijackers involved in the September 11, 2001 attacks. Imagine the damage and the number of innocent lives that could be lost if 19 more hijackers slipped in over the Mexican border and carried out 19 simultaneous attacks across our nation. We all know this is a true possibility and I know that you the reader understands that this is a true possibility and a real threat. Even agencies within the American government are saying there is a problem but the President isn’t listening. So, why does the President of the United States continue to block attempts to secure the borders or just outright ignore the problem? I can not honestly answer this. I can’t imagine why. Oh wait, yes I can. Our President is a liberal and by standing up and say that we have to secure our borders and deport all illegals would go against everything the liberals stand for. That would mean, no campaign funding for him and no votes. He is too worried about keeping his job and forcing his change upon America, his change that has to this point failed. You want some facts? Here are some facts and numbers straight from Arizona:
According to a February 2011 report by Congress’ chief watchdog, the Government Accountability Office, just 44 percent of the nearly 2,000 mile-long border is under operational control, and just 15 percent is totally controlled.
The border fence constructed in Yuma, Arizona successfully thwarted 93 percent of all illegal crossings in that area. This proves that fences do in fact work!

According to an investigation by the House Committee on Homeland Security, intelligence officials have determined members of the terrorist group Hezbollah have already infiltrated the U.S. by crossing at the southern border. Border Patrol agents recovered military-style patches on clothing near the border—one patch contained the word “martyr” in Arabic and another depicted a plane appearing to fly into sky scrapers.
In 2009, according to Homeland Security documents, ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) officials detained 45,279 illegal aliens classified as OTM (Other Than Mexican), many of whom were from Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, and Pakistan.
Additionally, FBI Director Robert Mueller testified before the House Appropriations Committee stating that these OTMs “are individuals from countries with known Al Qaeda connections who are changing their Islamic surnames to Hispanic-sounding names and obtaining false Hispanic identities, learning to speak Spanish and pretending to be Hispanic.”
Estimates show that the United States spent over $100 billion on services for illegal aliens in 2010.

What would happen to an employee or even a CEO of a business if they ignored problems like this? They would be fired! Knowing these problem exsist and ignoring them is that not a deriliction of duty? Is that not failure to defend America, her people, and the Constitution of the United States? Of course it is. When the President of the United States ordered the Juctice Department to file a lawsuit against the State of Arizona, President Obama did this to protect the illegal immigrants, the drug cartels, and the human smugglers that take advantage of the unsecure border. The President is protecting our enemies! That is obvious by looking at the facts listed above. By protecting and supporting our enemies and not looking out for the best interest of our country and by failing to protect our nation is this not treason? Article 3, Section 3 of the Constitution of the United States reads as follows; “Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court. The Congress shall have Power to declare the Punishment of Treason, but no Attainder of Treason shall work Corruption of Blood, or Forfeiture except during the Life of the Person attainted.” Let me now clearify this for you. The United States of America has declared a War on Terrorism. The United States has declared a War on Drugs. By ignoring the unsecured border is giving aid to our enemies. By allowing them to live in the United States is providing them with compfort. As far as having two witnesses testimony of the same overt Act, well there are millions of people that are witness to President Obama’s act of treason. There is no greater shame than knowing the President of the United States is supporting the same enemies he has taken an oath to protect us from.

With that said I will end with this. How is it possible that not a single member of the United States House of Representatives has not filed an Article of Impeachment against President Obama? Someone needs to open their eyes and file the Articles of Impeachment on President Obama based of the information I have provided. The facts are there. Even if you look at his history of who his friends are, the evidence is there to support his anti-American beliefs. In college he developed a strong friendship with Bill Ayres, Geore Soros is one of his majors supporters and a major campaign funder, President Obama wants to rewrite the Constitution of the United States into what he believes it should be, and he is ignoring threats from those we as a nation have declared war on. President Obama must be charged with treason, impeached, and punished to the fullest extent of the law then deported to whichever country his birth certificate wasn’t forged in.

Have you ever noticed that too many Republican candidates are sticking their noses into American bedrooms? Now normally I lean to the Republican side of the fence but they are pissing me off on two issues. These two issues are always hot topics come election time so I decided to get them out of the way now. Once again, as always elected officials in the federal government are busy fighting over issues that should be handed off to the states to decide. The Republicans are so focused on what the American people are doing, its almost as if every household in America is having an orgy. Imagine that, elected officials bending the American people over, who would have thought? These elected federal officials will waste our time and money arguing over abortion and gay marriage aka civil unions. Really? How about we focus on jobs, the national debt, healthcare, and the other important things we need to worry about. How about we find away for America to stand on her own two feet again and stop leaning on China.

First, lets talk about the abortion issue. If many Republicans had their choice all abortions would be illegal no matter what the reason for it. While I personally would never want my wife to have an abortion unless it was needed to save her life or if she was raped. Now, if she was raped I can positively say that when I would find the SOB that did it and I would be the judge, jury and executioner. He would be found guilty, sentenced to death, and the execution would happen within minutes of the sentencing. I can promise that it will be a very slow and painful death with no chance of a stay in execution. I’m sure the liberal groups like the American Civil Liberties Union and other whack jobs will be all over me for that but hey oh well. Anyways, abortion is an issue that the states need to decide. While I would never want my wife to have one, it is nobody’s business if we do. Just like if you and your spouse and or significant other decide to have an abortion what business is it of mine? It’s not and I would expect you to tell me to butt the hell out of your business much like I would tell you if you got into mine. The federal government allows each state to decide many of their own gun laws, but the gun in a man’s pants along with the target in a woman’s pants have to be protected by condoms called the federal government. I can honestly say that is one prophylactic I wouldn’t trust. How about we change, “Uncle Sam Wants You” to “Uncle Sam Wants In Your Pants.” Its kind of catchy or it could be mistaken for a bad porn movie. How about the federal government worry about their jobs while the State officials worry about their. Then again, the federally elected officials will also be the ones collecting their pay checks when they deny social security checks to America’s senior citizens, another way the federal government is bending the American people over. The federal government needs to realize there are state governments for a reason. In fact, in my opinion the state elected officials are more in tune with the wants and needs of their constituents then any elected official to the federal government. Before we wrap up the abortion issue I need to get one more thing of my chest. To all of those that have two or more Pro-Life bumper stickers on your car. We get your point! One bumper sticker tells us your opinion on the matter, you don’t need more than one. Also, you may call it murder but have you ever even seen a murder? If not I will gladly invite you to any inner city and I will drop you off there. Be warned, when I tell you to get out I am not stopping at the stop sign. I will slow down to a safe departure speed for you to exit the truck. Once your out you are own you own and I’m not looking back. Next time I see you will be on the 6:00 PM news.

On to my second complaint about Republicans in the bedroom. Let’s talk about the whole gay marriage thing or as some states are calling it civil unions. First, in my opinion there is no such thing as a gay marriage. To me a marriage is a union between a man and a woman. That’s it, no changing a word to make it politically correct after 100′s of years. This reminds me of an old saying my uncle use to use when is was growing up, “The funny thing about that little white speck on the top of chicken shit. That little white speck is chicken shit too”. Yes I know, that same line was in the movie Pure Country but I remember as a little kid hearing my uncle say it and not understanding until I got older. If you want to call them civil unions that’s fine and for this article I will call them just that. While I am personally against civil unions its not my choice. It should not be the choice of the federal government either, it should be the decision of each individual state. Once again, the decision should be made by the elected state officials based on what the citizens of that state want. If the citizens of Pennsylvania don’t want civil unions then our elected officials should vote against it. If the residents of California want to have civil unions, well then their elected officials need to act in a manner that speaks for the people, not their personal opinion. This is just another case of Uncle Sam trying to butt into each states business. Kind of like the big brother syndrome. If big brother doesn’t like it then you better not do it but if big brother wants it well you better hop to it before he gets mad. This all comes at a time when many Republicans are looking to defend the federal Defense of Marriage Act. Remember, this was even sign into law by a Democrat President. Yes, President Wild Willy Billy Clinton signed this law. Just an added note for humor, President Clinton signed this law about a year and a half before the media broke the story of Wild Bill, Monica, and the stained blue dress.

I think many people will agree that these issues are state issues. Each state should have the right to make laws for the people by the people right? It is obvious that big brother doesn’t like it’s little brothers are making their own decisions. For those of you that have an interest in American history, let us think back to our history classes. In 1860 when President Lincoln was elected many southerners believed that the government was growing to strong. The southern states and its citizens felt that the federal government had no right to tell them how they lived. The people of the south believed that if they remained part of the United States the North would control them. Therefore many states in the south decided to leave the United States. Big Brother didn’t like this and when they were told to leave Confederate land and refused an eviction noticed was served. Thus leading to the Union aka the North aka the Inited States to wage war on the newly formed Confederate States of America. While this is still a debate today as to whether states can or can not secede, we will leave that for another article. It all comes back to states rights. It doesn’t matter what the issue in debate is, the federal government continues to over step its boundaries by not allowing the states to govern themselves. The United States is made up of individual states, therefore the states must be able to govern themselves in a manner that represents the wishes of the people. The federal government needs to worry about the issues facing the nation as a whole. With this said, I feel the only proper way to end this article is with these two words, “Deo Vindice”!

Who Should the United States Pay?

On Tuesday, President Obama said he cannot guarantee that retirees will receive their Social Security checks on August 3rd. Why is it that the retirees of our country may not get their money? I bet the President, his staff, and other government employees will. Well, President Obama is blaming it on the budget. Now, while Democrats and Republicans need to come to a solution in regards to the budget, in my opinion it goes beyond that. In fact, Republican Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky went as far as saying that he does not see a way for Republicans and Democrats to come to an agreement on meaningful deficit reduction as long as Mr. Obama remains in office. It is obvious that our President doesn’t have the peoples best interest in mind when he is making decisions. Mr. Obama has been forcing the idea of raising the debt ceiling. He has even gone as far as trying to find a way to do this without the approval of Congress. What does that tell you? We elect our officials in Washington D.C. To represent we the people. The Senators and Representatives in our nations capitol are suppose to be the voice of the people and they are suppose to do what they feel is best for America. Therefore, they have said no to the President and his proposal to increase the debt ceiling. Meanwhile, President Obama is trying to undermine the whole system to get his way. What did he discover, he can’t. So if he can’t undermine it he may as well try blackmailing it. Maybe that will work.

How is he going to blackmail Congress to get his way? It’s a simple game he is going to try and play. Remember when we were young and dumb? There was a game many of us played while the rules were simple and the same game could be played different ways but the theory behind it was the same. That game is called chicken. I have seen the game played many ways and again I repeat we was young and dumb and I no longer recommend anyone plays this game, especially like we did. We would challenge something or someone, whether it was another person, a car, or the really really dumb idea a train. You would run at each other or stand in the path of the moving vehicle and whoever moved out of the way first was the loser. See simple, but dumb. President Obama is currently playing this game with the Republicans and the American people are in the way. Know you maybe asking how is our President doing this. He is using the scare tactic. Republicans won’t give him what he wants so he tries to make them look like the evil people that the Democrats make them out to be. President Obama says to the senior citizens of our country, look the Republicans won’t agree with me, they are bad and evil, if you don’t get your social security checks its because of them. Now these are not his exact words but I see what he is thinking. Why is he trying to scare the senior citizens of our country, why is he throwing the American people that is is sworn to protect under the train? Simple, the largest age group for voters is those ages 45 years old and up. Voters that are age 55 and up make up the largest part of this group. These are the people that are currently collecting their social security or will be collecting it in the near future. If he can scare them enough when it comes time to vote, how do you think they will vote? Of course, they are not going to vote for the evil Republicans, it is because of them that they might not get their social security checks. Meanwhile, the Republicans are forced to play the game that President Obama has forced them into. It’s a difficult game the Republicans are forced to play, they can either give into Dictator Obama’s ways and drive America into the dirt faster or take the chance and possibly face an angry nation on election day. My hope and I am sure the Republicans have the same hope is that the American people are not as dumb as the President thinks we are. Then again, there are way too many uninformed voters out there that base their voting on what they heard on the 6:00 news.

Now since money seems to be the issue here lets take a look at the money. With no money to pay the social security checks that are to go out in August, President Obama has made sure that the United Nations, Egypt, Pakistan, and other countries around the world get their share of the United States money or in the case of Egypt, we will just forget the money they owe and we will give them more. So the United States borrows money from China only to give it to other countries. Only for the United States to have to pay China back for the money we gave away. Makes sense huh? Each year the United States gives billions of dollars to other countries for such things as peacekeeping, development assistance, AIDS, broadcasting, military training, fight the drug war, and my favorite; to leave other countries alone. Don’t think this is all of them, there are many many more. Please see the link below for a more detailed list. I don’t understand why the United States is putting other countries first when we can barely take care of our own. Well, I understand that we are to busy kissing ass to worry about our own. Meanwhile back on the farm, the uninformed voters are having the crap scared out of them by a dictator that have made our country worse then it was before. The uniformed voters have put this man in office, our nation’s future is in the hands of a man that is clueless to what is best for the American people. He doesn’t care that Americans are hurting, he doesn’t care that behind our backs other countries are laughing at us while we are handing them money hand over fist. I honestly believe that Barrack Hussein Obama is trying to kill America. He has not done one thing to benefit this country since taking office.

The Republicans are not giving into what our leader wants because they and their constituents feel this is not the best thing for America. What did I say? Yes, someone in Washington D.C. is doing their job. While Obama scares people into believing that they may not get their social security checks I can honestly say that I am sure he will get his pay check. Is that fair? Of course not but why should he care about the people. Now while we know the Republicans are watching out for America there are some people that believe that a budget agreement can’t be reached for other reasons. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) believes that the reason there can not be an agreement on the budget is because President Obama is black. Yes that’s right, our country is crashing down because he is black. Now here is the surprising part, Rep. Jackson Lee is black. I know, no great surprise there. She also asked why the President is being treated so disrespectful? Why, well that’s a simple answer, cause he is a moron, that is why. Barrack Hussein Obama is and has been nothing more than a wolf in sheep clothing. President Obama preached change in his run for office and that one word fooled enough people into voting for him. We got our change; the deficit has changed for the worse, unemployment has gotten worse, respect for America has gotten worse, and the the attitude of many Americans has gotten worse. Is this the change those of you that voted for him wanted? I hope not. However, this doesn’t surprise me if you take a look at some of Obama’s friends and supporters. For instance, George Soros; found guilty by a French Court for insider trading, gives millions of dollars to keep people on the welfare system instead of trying to help get them off the system, spends millions of dollars to legalize drugs, and spends millions of dollars on gun control. Well, looking at this in my opinion he wants to keep Americans in a position to rely on the government for their survival. Then there is my favorite; Bill Ayers, a predominate member of the Weatherman Underground Organization. While the Obama Administration will admit no connection between the two, there is proof elsewhere. Who is the Weather Underground you ask? During the 1960′s & 1970′s they were a radical left wing organization that bombed a Chicago Police Station, the Pentagon, and the Capitol. Trying to bring down our nation. Meanwhile, 40 years later, President Obama is using words to terrorize the American people where his good friend Bill Ayers used bombs. Which one is more dangerous? I believe the terrorism by words is. While the bombs may bring down buildings one at a time a man speaking the right words can bring down a nation at one time. President Obama’s words of rhetoric are scaring our nation’s people. The words are scaring the people that worked their whole lives to build America into what she was before President Obama and his friends began to their work to destroy her and what she stands for.

All I can tell you my fellow Americans, don’t believe in the words of a man that wants to destroy America, a man that supports America’s enemies, and a man that sees himself as the one that can save America by rewriting the Constitution of this country into his own idea of what America or even the world should be like. A man the believes it is more important to take care of other countries before he takes care of the one that he was sworn to protect. My fellow American’s don’t vote based of what this man says, vote based off of what you know. The enemy of Obama and those like him are the informed voters not the uninformed. Don’t just listen to what one side of the isle has to say listen to both and then and only then make your decision.

In God We Once Trusted

In America we have the First Amendment, the one that gives us our Freedom of Speech. While many people believe this is a great freedom to have and don’t get me wrong because it is, this freedom comes with many headaches and arguments. This comes to mind after the recent not guilty verdict handed down by a Florida jury in the case of Casey Anthony who was on trial for allegedly murdering her daughter. While I have to admit I really haven’t followed the case close because from the start I knew it would be a remake of the famous three ring circus trial of OJ Simpson in 1995. I was right, sadly. While the Casey trial had a lot of circumstantial evidence I am pretty sure most people believe she is guilty and will agree the prosecution did a terrible job. As the news broke of the not guilty verdict I seen many comments and heard many people say that she will pay in hell and God will make her pay. While I hope this is all true and God will make her pay it got me thinking about how God is such a difficult topic in America. We are always hearing how people are upset that their child was made to say The Pledge of Allegiance in schools and it offended them because of the words “under God” are in the pledge. What about our currency? Does it not say, “In God We Trust”? Does this offend them? If so maybe that should not use U.S. currency. Now, don’t get me wrong here. I am not a Bible beater here to preach to you. I am an American that knows and realizes that America was founded under the belief of God but we also wanted our citizens to have the right to freedom of religion. We wanted our citizens to have the right to choose their church, their choice of religion, and give them the choice of not having a God or a religion. Yes, I know those phrases have not always been used in the pledge or on money. However, they have been added over time and now it is an issue in the United States. Why is it an issue? Its an argument many times a day by people and its tying up our judicial system and costing our government money. Now when I was younger I did go to church and was semi active in the church, this is no longer true. While I still believe in God and I have read the Bible a few times, and I consider myself a christian I no longer go to church and I am not a big believer in the church. In fact, I look at the church as the largest organized crime family in the world. But this isn’t about the church; it’s about God in America.

Now I understand that many people may not believe in God or they may pray to a different God, but isn’t America for the people by the people? Well if so then I believe those people that believe in God or the christians are the majority. In fact, it is estimated that 83% of America is christian. Now I understand we should respect others beliefs but why do our beliefs have to suffer? This of course isn’t the first time the majority in America has made sacrifices to make the minorities happy. There are bigger issues facing America but yet this one keeps popping up. So, I’m going to have my say on the issue and give you a brief history lesson along the way.

The original Pledge of Allegiance was written in 1892 by a Baptist minister named Francis Bellamy. He viewed this pledge as an ‘inoculation’ that would protect immigrants and the native-born but insufficiently patriotic Americans from the ‘virus’ of radicalism and subversion. Bellamy’s pledge was published in the September 8th issue of The Youth’s Companion, a popular children’s magazine. The Youth’s Companion published the pledge as part of the National Public-School Celebration of Columbus Day. The celebration was being held in honor of the 400th anniversary of Christopher Columbus’s arrival in the Americas. The original pledge went as follows;
I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
Along the way a few changes were made to the pledge but it wasn’t until June 22, 1942 that the United States Congress officially recognized the Pledge of Allegiance as the official national pledge. This version of the Pledge went as follows;
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
In 1954 President Eisenhower, who was raised as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses but converted to Presbyterian in 1953, signed into law a Joint Resolution of Congress amending §7 of the Flag Code enacted in 1942. This new law added the words “under God” to the Pledge of Allegiance. Since 1954 our National Pledge has remained unchanged.
That is enough of the history lesson but there is more to the Pledge of Allegiance than what I have included here. Now I understand that not everyone want to say those two words. However, most of America does, remember about 83% of Americans are christians. So, if you don’t want to say those two words then here are some options for I recommend for you;
A. Say the pledge and just don’t say those two words.
B. Stand there in silence and be respectful while we pledge our allegiance.
C. Get the hell out of America if you are too ignorant to do options A or B.
Now, I was raised a Methodist. I had very little understanding or knowledge of the Catholic religion. Let me tell you my first experience with the Catholic religion was at a funeral. I was lost, confused and didn’t have any idea of what to do or when to do it. They would stand, kneel, sit, and speak as one to the priest. Instead of being rude and ignorant towards their religion and cause a fuss about not knowing what to do I just sat there quietly to myself. Nobody looked at me strange, nobody made fun of me, nobody questioned me. I was respectful to them and they were respectful to me and in the end nobody was upset. After the services had ended I even joked with a few of my Catholic friends about my confusion and they even found it amusing and told me that I did the right thing. The problem starts when people start forcing their beliefs on me then you can be damn sure I will get upset and share my opinion. Surprisingly, many people don’t agree with my opinion but through my writings I have found that many people do. Again, I have nothing agaist those that have different beliefs than me, just don’t force your beliefs on the majority that has a different belief than you. As stated before, I understand that America is about freedom, many freedoms but when did the majority become the minority? Our government and many of the people in America have become so worried about making others happy that the majority of people are getting stepped on.
I understand that there are Americans that do not believe in God or may even pray to a different God and that is your choice. I also understand that there are some conservatives that are trying to force christianity one everyone in America. I agree this is also wrong and once again the First Admendment protects us from this. Those that want to force their religious beliefs on anyone should be beaten with their Bible or whatever book they use in their religion. Everyone needs to realize that we have a freedom of religion in America but at the same time everyone needs to understand that christianity is what a majority of the people in America believe in. If an when the time comes that the majority of Americans are not christian then we should look at changing things until then lets leave it well enough alone. There are options there for those that do not wish to say the words “under God”. I will not fault you as long as your are respectful to those around you that wish to say it the way it is written. Everyone won’t be happy but we can compromise. Can’t we?
Now for those of you that follow me on Facebook I have taken advantage of the polls they have. I figured for the first time using the poll option on Facebook I would ask the following question; “Should the United States removes the words Under God from the Pledge of Allegiance? The following is a list of answers that were available to choose from; Hell No, No, Yes, and I Don’t Care. Now while I did receive an email brining to my attention that I am possibly leading people by having the two no answers. Well, maybe he is right. However, no matter how you look at it no is no whether it is Hell No or just plain no. As of the time of writing this article here is where the poll stands:

While I understand Facebook is not a scientific poll, I am not a scientific person. However, I believe it still gets the point across. A few people even went as far as leaving comments and that is what I was truely hoping for. Now many of those that left comments were in favor of keeping those words and a few were against keeping them and a few didn’t care. There were also a few good points raised on all three sides, however my answer is, Hell No!
It is my belief that this country, our country was founded under God and the christian belief. I understand that many of the people that read my writings are from the South and are also Pro-Confederate. As am I and I wish the South would have won. I still wait for the day the South rises up and takes on the corrupt government in Washington D.C. I also believe that if states were to secede today, there would be more than the original 11 states. Until that day comes we are the United States of America. Both sides were very christian and still are today. While I love the United States of America and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania my issue is with our government. However, its all comes back to the majority of Americans. There are compromises we can make on this issue. There are bigger issues facing America, there are more important issues facing America. We have a President in office that we need to get out, we have a deficit that we have to bring down, we are still fighting terrorism around the world working to make our homeland safer. Meanwhile, unemployment rates are still high, there are Americans starving and homeless and our education system is simply pathetic. How about we compromise on the Pledge of Allegiance. Until the other major issues facing America go away or when the majority of Americans are no longer christian we just leave it alone. You don’t have to say those two words or you can choose not to say the pledge at all just respect those of us that do. Also, for you Bible beaters that are annoying everyone and are trying to force christianity and God one everyone, you just need to STOP! Your preaching is doing anyone any good. America is the land of the free, this means we are free to choose our religion, so let us choose. We have a good thing with the Pledge of Allegiance, don’t ruin it for those of us that don’t want it changed. Again, its the majority, the majority of christians are not bible beaters preaching to the world. We are simple people that believe in God and we practice our christianity the way we feel best. Not the way the extremist do.
So, if the extreme Bible beaters shut up and stop forcing their beliefs on everyone and the non-christians can just understand that the majority of America is christian and they have options available everyone can be happy. In other words, can’t we all just get along and leave the damn thing alone?

As America prepares to celebrate her 235th birthday the people that make up our country are preparing for a 3 day weekend, cookouts, family outings, and the best part of all the fireworks. While most people are aware that we celebrate the 4th of July as our Independence Day, how many people are aware of who and when we gained our independence? Now I will be totally honest here, when I seen the numbers and read the article Independence Day — Seventeen Seventy When? from Marist Poll I was shocked and disgusted. The most disturbing part it that on 58% of America’s residents know that she claimed her independence in 1776. Only 58%, really? Now I am really hoping that many of the people asked were illegal immigrants, but I am finding this highly unlikely. Now the numbers change based on age groups and whether those asked were male or female. If you think that 58% is bad well then you better sit down because the numbers don’t get much better. Only 31% of adults under the age of 30 could correctly answer that America declared its Independence in 1776 from Great Britain. According to Marist Poll this is the second year in a row that 1 in 4 Americans don’t know that America declared its independence from Great Britain. Lets look at these numbers a different way; 1 in 4 Americans, which would be about 25% or 77,750,000 people. That number is based off of 311 million people in the United States. Does anyone else besides me find it disturbing that 25% of our country doesn’t know where our country came from?

Now that we have the numbers we have to ask ourselves who is to blame for this? I know my first instinct is to blame the teachers, their unions and our education system. While I have admitted before that I am not a big fan of American education system this one of the many reasons. While there are many teachers out there that truly do care, those that do have their hands tied by the education system and the unions they belong too. Other teachers are there for the good pay, great benefits, and of course the summer vacation schedule. Many teachers are more worried about getting bigger money than teaching and do so by using their unions to force a strike. However, as many of us are aware of teachers teach what they are told to by the education system. It doesn’t matter what is fact it only matters that it’s close enough. This reminds me of one of my favorite quotes of all time. The quote comes from Confederate General Patrick Cleburne, “Surrender means that the history of this heroic struggle will be written by the enemy; that our youth will be trained by Northern school teachers; will learn from Northern school books their version of the War; will be impressed by all the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors, and our maimed veterans as fit subjects for derision.” General Cleburne was right more than anyone could have imagined. Our Government decides what is important to teach and what is not important. Another good example of this is when I was in school myself. We were just starting into the American Civil War, a subject I have always enjoyed. The teacher asked the class, “Does anyone know the cause of the Civil War?” Now I wasn’t a good student but this was mine, I loved history and the Civil War so I quickly threw my hand in the air. The teacher some what surprised that it was the rare occasion that I volunteered to take part in a class discussion. He quickly called on me. My answer, “The southern states believed in states rights, that each state should govern itself with little involvement from the government of the North.” He looked at me in discuss and quickly said, “No”. I was dumbfounded, lost, and confused. What does he mean I am wrong? Yes, that was the reason. The teacher quickly called on a female in the class that gave the correct answer in his eyes and the eyes of the book. Her answer was slavery. Once again I threw my hand in the air to argue the point. I told the teacher that slavery was an issue but not the cause. Now this may be hard for my readers to imagine but my little discussion with the teacher trying to defend my answer turned into an argument. The argument ended when the teacher told me, “Listen, your answer is wrong because me, the book, the writers of the book and the American Education System says you are wrong, end of story. If you want to continue arguing this rhetoric then you will once again learn how the school’s judicial system works when I place you in detention or in-school suspension.” Realizing that I would not win this war I shut my mouth. Looking back at this moment in my life I just realized something, I think it is because of that teacher I have developed the opinions I have today and voice them the way I do. So, let me take a moment and say, thank you Mr. Minyon. If by chance that you read this I have to also add that I am still right! Anyways back to our regularly scheduled rant. This is just an example of how the education system in America works. Then you throw in the unions and many lazy teachers I guess its not surprising to have these numbers.

While I would love to blame this all on the education system, I can’t. Unlike many people in America that want to blame the schools and the government I will also blame the parents. Now if any of you are offended by me saying this then you should be because you are the people I am talking about. While yes it is the job of our education system to teach our children we as parents need to pick up the slack of our relaxed schools. Knowing that our schools don’t teach the facts and the truth in the subject of history or they feel that certain things may not be important enough to teach we the parents should be aware of what is being taught to our children and fill in the gaps or correct the false teachings. We as the parents of America’s future should be making sure the future knows where they came from as well as us as a country. This brings me to another great quote, “Those who ignore history are bound to repeat it.” To many times in America we Americans want to forget our past. Many times those who proudly display the past of their family are called racist. Here in America too many people are more concerned about being politically correct then they are of being correct. Until the citizens of our country get over themselves and their political correctness the numbers mentioned above are only going to get worse. Until we the people force change there will be no change. Until we the people stand up and tell our government, the teachers and the unions they hide behind that we want change there will be no change. How do we change this? We contact our local school boards, our congressmen on the state and federal levels. We tell them that we the people want the truth taught to our children. We want our children to know where and when America declared her independence. We want our children to know the truth about our country and the struggles our ancestors faced in America. Stop teaching our children that the South was wrong, instead teach them why the South wanted to secede from the United States. Let the students decide who was right and who was wrong, or is that what you are afraid of? Teach them that the Confederate Flag is just as important to American history as the Star Spangled Banner, the Betsy Ross Flag, the Grand Union Flag, and other flags in American history. Teach them the truth about American history not what the politically correct truth is. If our school boards and other elected officials don’t want to hear what we the people have to say, well then we the people can vote them out.

Being an American should be more than having a freedom of speech or the right to vote. Americans were once proud and strong people. We were proud of who we are and where we came from. Now many Americans are proud when the need arises. We were proud people after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Almost every American hung flags from their homes to show their pride. How many of those flags are still flying? Many Americans have part-time pride, when it is convenient for them or they feel that they have to show it. I have met a few legal immigrants that have become American citizens that are more proud to be an American then many Americans are. Why is that? Why is it when an immigrant applies to become a citizen of America they have to take a test based on American history and government that most Americans could not pass? Now don’t get me wrong, I have looked over the test and I find it to be a fairly easy 100 question test but honestly how many Americans could pass it? Maybe one day out of curiosity I will place the test online for people to take and that could lead us to another rant from me about America. Hopefully I will be surprised by the results but doubtful.

Like many cities in the United States Pittsburgh, PA is facing budget issues. City council and the mayor need to decide where they can trim money without cutting many services in the city. This is a very important debate and each council person should be dedicated to solving the budget issue. At a time when you would think the city would be happy to have any new business to help generate new revenue within the city, Pittsburgh is making it tougher for a certain type of new businesses. The businesses they are working against are the adult entertainment clubs also known as strip clubs. Strip clubs are an important part of becoming a man. When we were boys becoming teens we all or many of us stole our fathers playboys and looked at the same issue for hours letting our imagination run wild. When that teenager starts taking his steps to become a man one of those steps are going to his first strip club. Strip clubs are much like car dealerships. You have the high end dealers, middle of the road dealers, and the dealers that sell junk. While I must admit my first experience at a strip club was more comparable to the junk car dealership. However, I have visited all three types and also much like the car dealers, depending where you go depends how much you end up paying. Let us not forget the young girls working there that are working their way through med school. These poor girls work and study at night while learning during the day. Well, okay maybe not all of them but in their defense, Pittsburgh is home of many schools such as the University of Pittsburgh, Carlow University, Carnegie Mellon University, Duquesne University and a few others. So, many of these girls may very well be working through school. Also, lets not forget but the sex industry is one of the largest money making industries in the United States. In fact, sex is one of those things that almost everyone will agree on, they enjoy it. You can take a group of what seems to be straight laced, well dressed, intelligent, quiet professional woman and you place a male stripper in the middle of them and you will have one heck of a party! I’m sure by this point you are wondering where and what the hell am I talking about.

Earlier this month Pittsburgh Councilwoman Theresa Kail-Smith introduced legislation to limit new strip clubs to industrial zones, require owners of adult businesses to obtain annual licenses and prohibit patrons from tucking money in dancers’ garters or G-strings. But it doesn’t end there. Councilwoman Kail-Smith also wants to eliminate dark rooms with new lighting requirements, Dancers while they are nude and performing would have to keep a distance of 6-feet from customers, and once the dancer is done performing and is dressed again she could not mingle with patrons for at least one hour. Wait, wait, wait!! No more lap dances, no more slipping dollar bills into their tiny little g-string? What is this woman thinking? Well, her theory is that by making the exotic dancers wait one hour before they can mingle will reduce the incidents of prostitution and other illicit sexual contact. Really? Does she really believe this? Okay, we will let her. Of course the adult entertainment facilities already established in the city plan on fighting the legislation and the two new ones looking to open in the future do also. Now, with the idea that sex sells and the city can use any money it can get you would think that they would welcome the new businesses with open arms. Nope, not Pittsburgh, the politicians will make it as tough as possible for these money making businesses to open. However, I think it’s safe to say that once the new adult entertainment clubs open the city will have no problem accepting their money. We also know that since people first realized that sex sells there have always been people fighting it. They fight it for many reasons some that make sense and some just because they are jealous. Now, Ms. Kail-Smith says her reasoning for the legislation is designed to “better regulate” what appears to be a growing industry in Pittsburgh. I wonder if she has even been into an adult entertainment club, if she has been she would know that this industry isn’t the only thing growing. I worked in the city of Pittsburgh and to be honest it isn’t like the city is being taken over by these clubs. Currently I can only think of less than a handful of these types of establishments in the city, but she is correct in saying the industry is growing with the two new clubs opening. Lookout! Pittsburgh is becoming the adult entertainment capitol of the United States! Okay, maybe not but boy would that be fun. With that said, in my opinion she is making excuses to cover for the real reason she is against the adult entertainment clubs. I will repeat this is my own opinion. She is jealous of the young girls working at these clubs. After seeing a photograph of the councilwoman, I found her very unattractive. My opinion she is upset that young girls can make money by taking their clothes off and teasing men. In my opinion she is upset that many people would not be willing to see her in a g-string. I can honestly say if I was to walk into an adult entertainment club and see the councilwoman on stage, I would be more than willing to take a $100 bill and tell her that she can have it if she keeps her clothes on. Again, this is my opinion of the councilwoman. Now, I could be wrong maybe this isn’t the reason but with the economy hurting and the city wrestling with a tough budget, I would think any money for the city is good money and they would welcome new businesses with open arms. If she is worried about people soliciting for sex in the clubs, well maybe she should take a look at the city streets. While at on time Liberty Ave. in the city was once well known for having many working girls the city has cleaned it up. However, finding a working girl in the city still isn’t all difficult. Besides, if a dancer wants to make extra money on the sides by prostituting herself out these new laws are not going to stop them. I am pretty sure all these girls have phone numbers and would be willing to give them out in order to make extra money. So, is it fair to penalize the business owners, the customers, and the girls trying to make an honest living because of a few girls that break the rules? I would have to say no.
In closing I think that all the exotic dancers in the city should rally at the city county building located at 414 Grant St and protest the legislation that Councilwoman Theresa Kail-Smith is pushing for. In fact, it would be my honor to put together protest. Better yet, we will call it a rally. Let’s rally behind the exotic dancers of Pittsburgh to be able to perform their nude shows with no government red tape to cover them up. Let us give the future young men of Pittsburgh the chance to have their first lap dance. I will even bring the super soakers!

Pennsylvania Death Penalty is a Laughing Matter

For many people in the Pittsburgh Region April 4, 2009 is a day many will not forget. On this date City of Pittsburgh Police Officers Paul Sciullo, who was first to get shot, Steve Mayhle, who was backing him up, and Eric Kelly, who was on his way home but had stopped to help the others paid the ultimate sacrifice. Police were called to the home of Richard Poplawski after his mother called 911 asking him to be removed from the home. When Poplawski realized the police were on their way he went to his room armed himself with an AK-47 and protected himself with a bulletproof vest and waited for the officers to arrive. After a 4 hour stand off Poplawski was taken into custody by Pittsburgh SWAT only after 3 officers were murdered in cold blood and 2 other officers injured. While the pain of this day will never go away, today the families of the slain officers and their brothers and sisters of law enforcement came one step closer to closing this book. On June 20, 2011 trial began for the 28 counts Richard Poplawski was being charged with. The 28 counts were made up as follows; 3 counts of first degree murder, 9 counts of attempted homicide, 9 counts of assault of a law enforcement officer, 1 count of possessing instruments of a crime, 2 counts of discharging a firearm into an occupied structure and 4 counts of recklessly endangering another person. The trial lasted on 5 days and in a matter of 4 hours the jury delivered their verdict. Richard Poplawski was found guilty on all 28 counts. The next step will begin on Monday June 27, 2011 when the same jury that found him guilty will now decide his fate. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for Mr. Poplawski which in my opinion he deserves; I can only hope the members of the jury can make the right decision here also.

Now while I want to see this murderer strapped to the table and the lethal injection given to him in a slow and inhuman manner, I also have to laugh knowing that there is little chance of that truly happening even if the jury hands him the death penalty. Why do I laugh at this thought? Well, Pennsylvania has only held 3 executions since 1976. All 3 of those executions occurred while Governor Tom Ridge was in office and the last execution occurring on July 6, 1999. Currently, lethal injection is the form of execution used in Pennsylvania. From 1913 to 1990 Pennsylvania used the electric chair as their way to carry out the sentence of death, In fact the chair even carried the nickname of “Old Smokey”. During the almost 80 years of service “Old Smokey” carried out the sentence of death to 350 individuals. Once “Old Smokey” moved on to the retirement home so did Pennsylvania’s Death Penalty, also note that Pennsylvania has one of the highest number of people waiting on death row in the nation. The last time “Old Smokey” was used was in 1962. So while Pennsylvania still recognized the electric chair as its form of execution, from 1962 to 1990 there was no chair. When lethal injection took Old Smokey’s place in 1990 the table has only seen 3 people lay their heads down on it for their last breaths. This in my opinion is uncalled for and the table with the heart stopping juice must and should be used more often. Currently there are approximately 220 people awaiting death on Pennsylvania’s Death Row this is the fourth highest in our Nation. Many of these people will face death by natural causes before they see the table. Why is this? Once again in my opinion it has to do with a two factors. One of the main reasons I believe is because we don’t have politicians with a strong enough stomach or big enough……. (insert your own word here). They are too worried about what the voters will think if I execute a human being. It’s your job to sign the death warrant on someone that has been found guilty in a court of law and sentenced to death. Now this brings me to another reason, the legal system. When found guilty and sentenced to death there is almost guaranteed to be appeals. Honestly you can’t blame them but that is the loop hole in the system, if you keep it in appeals you stay off the table. In the long run it cost more money to keep a person on death row than it does to keep a prisoner sentenced to a life sentence. In fact, the system is so screwed up that some appeals last 25 years! With so many people on death row and the state budget in the tank and crime almost out of control if not out of control depending the region you live in. Something must be done to fix all of theses issues. Pennsylvania’s slogan is, “You got a Friend in Pennsylvania”. Well, maybe we need to stop being so friendly to the criminals and make them fear the state. I know personally of one local small town in Pennsylvania that was once a nice quiet community. Going back 15-20 years ago the biggest crime to occur was an occasional fight amongst teenagers, a loud argument between a couple, and devils night or October 30 when kids ran through the neighborhood throwing corn at houses or putting toilet paper on cars and trees. In recent weeks that same community has had drug overdoses, stabbings, robberies and other acts of violent crimes. All of this in a community of fewer than 900 residents.

While many opponents of the death penalty are correct in saying that it cost more to keep a person on death row than it does for them to serve out a life sentence, it has nothing to do with the death part of the sentencing. The expense comes from the life long appeals. In fact, the cost of the drugs used to fulfill the execution cost approximately $86.00 according to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. How do we solve this problem? I personally like the way the grocery stores do things. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania needs to add an express lane to death row. Maybe take lessons from the Lone Star State of Texas. But yet we come back to the appeals process. I have a solution for this. First, we elect a governor that is not afraid of using the death penalty, a governor that will pressure state congress into changing the laws of the appeal process. Second, we elect people to state congress that are not afraid to take the bull by the horns and realize this is an issue in our state and those people be willing to change the laws on the appeal process. Third, revise the appeals process as follows. Once a person is sentenced to death the convicted and their legal council have 30 days to file an appeal. If the appeal is not filed within 30 days then the guilty will be scheduled for execution within six months. If an appeal is filed, then the appeals hearing will be conducted within 6 months of the date the appeal is filed. Upon conclusion of the appeals hearing a decision will be made to either serve out the original sentence of death or to be sentenced to life in prison. If the sentence of death is upheld, the case will then go to an execution review board. This brings us to the fourth change. The creation of a review board made up of citizens; let’s name it PA State Execution Review Board. This board would be made up of citizens not politicians. The board will have no more than one lawyer, one medical doctor, one psychologist, one retired police officer, one criminologist, and four average citizens of the state. The members review board will remain anonymous during their time of service on the board. The nine member review board would review all execution sentences. The review board would have 6 months to review each case. At the end of the review a vote by the board would be held with a majority approval to fulfill the sentence of execution. The governor must also sign off on the execution warrant within 1 weeks of the boards’ decision. Once the governor and the board have signed off of the execution a date will be set within 3 months to fulfill the sentence of death. In the event the review board reverses the decision and feels the guilty should not receive the death penalty then the guilty person sentence will be changed to a life sentence in a maximum security prison with limited luxuries. At anytime if the guilty person wishes to uphold the original sentence of death the guilty party can request so in writing to the review board and the governor. At this time execution will be scheduled for immediate fulfillment within 30 days of the review board and the governor receiving the request. Fifth change, any person found guilty of murdering more than 2 people or guilty of killing public service personnel such as police officers, firefighters, paramedics, and social workers in the first degree will automatically be sentenced to death. Sixth, the date of execution will not be released to the public or media until 24 hours in advance. This will be done so that those families involved will be able to have peace in the final hours and the execution will be done at undisclosed locations throughout the state. Families of those involved will be notified in advance of the date and location and will be permitted to attend and view the execution if they so wish. Family members of the guilty will be given time to say their final words to each other through a secure meeting.

While there are other options I would like to set into place these are just the beginnings to get the system rolling. Now I understand that there are going to be many people upset with what I have written and honestly I do not care. The facts are simple, people commit heinous crimes and these criminals are a burden on the judicial system and the community. With modern day forensics there is less of a chance of executing the wrong person. With an option of an appeal this gives the guilty person and his legal council a second chance to reverse the original decision. The review board is the third so called safety net in execution of sentencing. What more do we need? If a person is found guilty and there is nothing that can change the mind of those making the decision then why should we continue to let the guilty use the system in their favor at the expense of tax payers? With a system in place like I described above a person sentenced to be executed in the state of Pennsylvania would be executed in a period of 7 to 16 month after the initial hearing. No longer would we have guilty persons milking the system with appeals for 25 years and costing the state and its tax payer’s money. Plus the added benefit to this, it would make people think before committing a crime in the state of Pennsylvania. I know that I referred only to people that commit murder in the first degree for the death penalty however I would be willing to open the death penalty up to other violent crimes. With a harder sentence it would make these crimes less desirable. While doing this we would also need to reform our prison system to make them less like country clubs and more like the prisons they are suppose to be. A prison is a place that people are sent to for committing a crime, it’s a place that once there a person should not want to go back to. While I could go on ranting and complaining about the changes needed in the prison system I won’t. We can save that for another day. For now, we can only hope that a politician with some intelligence will read what I have written and make the moves for my dream to become a possibility and to hope and pray that Richard Poplawski is sentenced to death for the cold blooded murder of 3 of Pittsburgh’s finest.

On my final note while I will agree to the use of lethal injection as the form of execution to be used in the State of Pennsylvania it would not be my first choice. I prefer and believe in a good old fashion public hanging. Yes I know, if I haven’t upset people before I will now but as usual I don’t care. If you have people watching the execution what will make them think twice before committing a crime. What would leave more of a lasting impression in your mind? Watching someone basically fall asleep and fade of to death or watching a person drop through the door of the gallows and swing from the neck until they are dead, hearing the sounds of the door opening, the body dropping and the neck snapping. I think the answer here is obvious. I’m sure that if someone was debating a crime the flashback in their mind of seeing a person hanged would make them think is this really worth it?

May 30 is the true day but we American’s like to change things for a matter of convenience and have made it the last Monday in May? What is this date, it’s Memorial Day. A day where many American start the day by going to local parades then spend the day cooking out with family and friends. Now there isn’t anything wrong with this but how many people know the true meaning and history of Memorial Day? Do you know what we as Americans should really do to celebrate this great holiday? I am sure many people don’t because these are not the things our education system teaches. Well, as you know or are about to learn I am not a fan of the education system and I enjoy speaking the truth. While most of my writings are focused on beating up the politicians, today on the special day I will give my respects to those who have fallen in the Liberty and give you a few lessons on Memorial Day.

Where did Memorial Day come from and when? Memorial Day was originally called Decoration Day. Many many towns lay claim to the birthplace of Memorial Day. This holiday dates back to the civil war where there is evidence that Southern woman would go and decorate the graves of fallen Confederate Soldiers. However, in 1966 President Johnson declared Waterloo, NY as the birthplace of Memorial Day. Long before that though on May 5, 1868 General John Logan, national commander of the Grand Army of the Republic issued General Order 11, officially proclaiming May 30 as Memorial Day and was first held on May 30, 1868. Now with tension still strong between the North and the South, the South did not recognize this day and each state of the South continued to recognize its fallen soldiers on days selected by each state. After World War 1, Memorial Day was changed to recognize fallen soldiers from any war not just the Civil War. Today, Memorial Day is observed by every state in our Nation and fallen soldiers are honored from every war that American has been involved in.

Have you ever noticed members of the local VFW at your local grocery store or bank selling those fake little red flowers to wear on your clothes? Well, those too are a part of Memorial Day. Moina Michael, developed the idea of wearing a red poppy to honor those who have died while serving their Nation. They idea spread and in 1922 the VFW became the first veterans organization to sell poppies to raise money for servicemen in need. How much do these poppies cost? That’s the great thing, no matter how much you donate, you get a poppy. So when you see a veteran selling those little artificial flowers make sure you make a donation of any kind and wear it with pride.

Each Memorial Day the President of the United States pays a special visit to Arlington National Cemetery. There the President visits the Tombs of the Unknowns where he lays a wreath to honor them. These tombs are patrolled by select soldiers that are members of the 3rd United States Infantry. These men commit two years of their lives to protect these unknown soldiers. The men selected for this high honor live in a compound built under the tombs and protect it 365 days a year 24 hours a day. While guarding the tombs the soldiers patrol back and forth taking 21 steps in each direction and pausing 21 seconds before they do an about face and continue. The 21 is to represent the 21 gun salute. Once a soldier is selected for this duty, they can never drink alcohol on or off duty for the rest of their lives, they can not swear in public and cannot disgrace the uniform or the tomb in any ways, every guard spends five hours a day getting his uniforms ready for guard duty, The first six months of duty a guard cannot talk to anyone nor watch TV, All off duty time is spent studying the 175 notable people laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery. A guard must memorize who they are and where they are interred. After two years, the guard is given a wreath pin that is worn on their lapel signifying they served as guard of the tomb. There are only 400 presently worn. The guard must obey these rules for the rest of their lives or give up the wreath pin. There are many more rules these men must follow for their entire lives. There are remains of unknown soldiers from World War 1, World War 2, and Korea. There was also a tomb for the unknown soldier of Vietnam; however the remains of the Vietnam Unknown were exhumed May 14, 1998. Based on DNA testing, DoD scientists identified the remains as those of Air Force 1st Lt. Michael Joseph Blassie, who was shot down near An Loc, Vietnam, in 1972. It has been decided that the crypt that contained the remains of the Vietnam Unknown will remain vacant.

What are we as Americans suppose to do on Memorial Day? Many Americans look at Memorial Day as an extra day off work, many kids look at it as a sign the school year is almost over, and many people see it as a day of cookouts and cold beer. This is what Memorial Day means. In case you are unsure of what should be done on Memorial Day I will provide you with this information. As I said earlier, Memorial Day is a day to honor the soldiers that have lost their lives while serving our Nation. These brave men and woman are the true heroes. This day is their day. Each American should take time on Memorial Day and visit cemeteries and placing flags or flowers on the graves of our fallen heroes. American should visit memorials, the American Flag should be flown at half-staff until noon, a POW/MIA Flag should be flown as well, each American should participate in a “National Moment of Remembrance”: at 3 p.m. to pause and think upon the true meaning of the day, and for Taps to be played. Finally each American should renew or make a pledge to aid the widows, widowers, and orphans of our fallen dead, and to aid the disabled veterans. I they to take much of this a step further, especially on Memorial Day but anytime I can, when I see a veteran I shake their hand and thank them for their service to our country. It is because of these veterans that we are the country we are today. It is because of them America is the land of the free and the home of the brave. For the men and woman that serve our country and the ones that have paid the supreme sacrifice are the brave. When people ask me who my heroes are, it is the men and woman both past and present of the U.S. Armed Forces. These are the true heroes.

Now I will also be participating in the cookouts and holiday fun but I will also be going to memorial services to honor those fallen, saying a prayer for those fallen and those actively serving, and when I open that first cold beer of the day I will make a toast to honor those that have laid down their life so that me and my family can live safe and free in America.
